■ Conduct a bush walk the length of the Australian mainland from its most northerly to most southerly points.

Top Three Goals Of Project

1.  To safely bush walk from Cape York to Wilsons Promontory in the company of many fellow walkers in thirteen months, thus promoting bush walking itself.
2.  To raise $ 1,000,000 in total for the benefit of The Cancer Council of Australia. This amount is to be raised through a variety of donation reception points open to the public, businesses of all sizes, schools, bush walking clubs and a range of other community groups.
3.  To form strong teams of voluntary helpers, sponsors and participants all working together with a sense of friendship and mutual respect for every one involved. This will also serve to promote awareness of Bush Walking Clubs and their role in the community.

Walk Mission

  • To capture the imagination and inspire sponsors and general public to give generously as they see the potential benefits for those touched by cancer and the effort being put in by all involved in the walk.
  • We will increase awareness of the many functions of the CCA and reinforce the reality that the CCA is entirely publicly funded.
  • We seek to ensure that every individual involved in the walk is valued for their contribution and feels a true sense of pride and worth in what has been achieved.
  • The walk will promote the wonderful pastime of bush walking, healthy exercise and the enjoyment of Australia's amazing bush land.
