We Invite Individuals, Bush Walking Clubs And Other Groups To Join Michael on the Walk

Over the thirteen months Michael will be walking from North to South, with walkers of all levels, who will join him along the way.

With nearly 60 sections and an ideal group of 8 walkers on the track at any one time, there is the potential for up to 350 different individuals to take part in the official walking party at some stage of the walk.   So maybe you want to reach a personal goal, challenge yourself, or simply be part of something significant, helping others in your community.      Give us a call and we will talk you through the walk legs and any questions you many have.  We will help you come to a decision and are by your side all the way to your starting line, through to the finish line of your walk leg/s.   Register to be a bush walker – you will note a user name and password section. We are delighted and motivated by the participation of Australia's Bush Walking Clubs. This is a big bonus to any walking group.    The experience the seasoned bush walkers will add is an exciting aspect of the Great Australian Cancer Bush Walk.   The bush walking clubs are excited at the opportunity for the bushwalking fraternity to come together to support the anti-cancer cause by doing what they do best-bushwalking!   Bush walking clubs from Queensland, NSW, ACT, and Victoria in particular are supporting the walk. Other clubs in WA, SA, and NT are sending their team and proving advice through a vast network.   Members are invited to represent and have their club recognised for supporting the TGACBW by accepting the invitation to join Michael on a leg or two. The walk party size is restricted in accordance to the Tread Lightly bush walking Code of Practice.   There will be no refuse or rubbish left along the route.   The support crews take care of all weekly supply caches, transporting them to the various leg section rendezvous points indicated on the prepared itinerary.   We will indeed leave nothing but footprints and take with us great memories, photographs and the well wishes of those along the way!   Bush walkers are strongly advised to purchase their own insurance for the walk.
