At the touch of a button the Australian HQ Search and Rescue are alerted and a team is deployed to Michael and/or the support team.

Telstra have provided two satellite phones. This enables Michael and the team to call in to the HQ daily where we can keep track off them.
The support crew and Michael switch on their phones between 7 – 8 pm each day as the phones operate on AA batteries which are recharged at this time for long term use.
Telstra are also covering all calls and text messages made from both of the Telstra Mobile Satellite phones.

Keen have kindly provided Michael with 5 pairs of walking boots especially made for his feet. Chris, Michael's best friend is currently spending his spare time, stretching and preparing the remaining four sets of boots.
This is to minimize wearing in time on the walk when Michael receives them in his next supply delivery.
We expect each pair to survive 2 – 3 months based on the different bush walking terrains Michael will be encountering.
