Hello everyone,
Well, what a day packing up day was! Full of excitement we embarked on a long, hard working day, where many members of Michael's family and the support crew turned up to help.
At the end of the day with the car and trailer prepared (see the 'big pack' page) it was time for the cars and trailer to have their final checks. As we did this, all of us had one eye out for the Toll truck to arrive.
We were experiencing nervous excitement at this stage, especially Michael as his 'baby' was leaving and we were not in control of what happened to it over the next four weeks.
After two years of planning it was, well, weird to see the truck disappear with the key trip equipment in it!
You will see a variety of photos from the testing of the roof tent to the loading up of the car and trailer onto the Toll truck. |
A big thank you to our sponsors Toll who have helped us in many ways. The biggie was the transportation of the car and Tru Blu camper trailer to Cairns.
This is where Dave, the support crew driver and Michaels Uncle flew to meet them and drive the car to Bamaga. Not an easy driving trip at the best of times, and we are extremely grateful for Dave's support and doing the trip alone.
Since then Toll have also helped us send further supplies to Michael in FNQ. They are continuing with this for the remaining states free of charge. This is a huge help to the project support team in many ways and we are appreciative of the generosity.
Enjoy the photos and if you have met Michael somewhere on the track and have a photo, please send it in to us with a few words.
Warm regards
Lisa Burnett
